Find beautiful places and wonderful solitude on your days off.
Get some quiet in new places.
Get some quiet in new places.
In 2021, during the height of the Pandemic, I was absolutely burnt out from the upswing of work and chaos of daily information. I wanted to go hiking and get some quiet, but local Southern California news kept running a story of predators on hiking trails. Determined to protect some sort of hermit-mode, I organized a group of solitude seeking hikers (my friends say I essentially assembled a security team so I can hike). We would hike silent going uphill (at our own pace) with the option to socialize going downhill. It was a success.
I organized more social activities like that. All with a particular vibe in mind: relaxed, without social pressures, exit at any time, low to no-cost participation. I basically wanted all the freedom to relax, go at my own pace, feel safe, and see new, beautiful places (but not make new friends lol). They were like school fieldtrips: introduction to new places, then go home after a good day.
The feedback was that the activities were relaxing yet exciting. An amazing combo.
So now I have a new side quest: organize more of these for more people. There is a variety of beautiful, quiet sanctuary-like experiences that you can incorporate into your weekly or monthly schedule.
Wander, discover, enjoy a slower, quieter time.
